CSI Skill Tree video game series: Waking Mars

CSI Skill Tree is a new series that examines and celebrates how video games envision possible futures, build rich and thought-provoking worlds, and engage people as active participants in unfolding and interpreting stories.

In our second episode, we discuss Waking Mars (2012), a game about space exploration, gardening, and ecosystems developed and published by Tiger Style Games.

Our special guests are games scholar Katherine Buse, a PhD candidate at the University of California, Davis who researches the relationship between science and speculative media, and Steve Desch, an astrophysicist at ASU’s School of Earth and Space Exploration who leads a NASA-supported effort to search for habitable conditions and life on exoplanets.
